Playing is one of the main points of the projects of the Fundación Vínculos Estelí.
Playing... you have fun; you can share and cooperate with other people;
you calculate your skills and make them progress;
you let you emotions flow and regulate them; you consolidate relationships and affections;
you learn a lot of things and you do it in an enjouyable
constructive, meaningful and functional way.
The Som Vínculos Estelí Association involves children, families and general public from Catalunya in activities that – while enjoying the advantages of playing – give them the opportunity to know more about Nicaragua and reveal their sensitivity towards relationships, solidarity and fair and two-way cooperation between peoples.
Game exhibitions
Som Vínculos Estelí always proposes playing activities when taking part in cooperation fairs, responsible consumption fairs, when it has a stand in a festivity in a neighbourhood or –let's say–, at a Christmas Fair.
We try to ensure that, at least, part of the games are inspired by features of Nicaragua's reality.
making toys
It is a chance for children and families from Catalunya to know and appreciate some features of Nicaragua, increase ingenuity and ability to create games and toys inspired by it.
Then, these games and toys are sent to the Educational Resource Centre of the Fundación Vínculos Estelí.
LEARNING MATERIALS
In cooperation with the team of the Fundación Vínculos Estelí, we increase imagination and look for resources in order to develop materials for meaningful, constructive and functional learning about facts and traits of Nicaragua's reality.
These materials can be used by children, families or educational institutions in Nicaragua, as well as by children, families or schools in other countries to get to know and appreciate Nicaraguan reality, history and culture.
Learning and service
Students and teachers from schools or educational centres make curricular learning happen by doing activities –in cooperation with the Association Som Vínculos Estelí – which have an impact on resources for children and families in Nicaragua.
To highlight the conceptual and attitudinal learnings that students usually do about unequal opportunities in different human groups, as well as the realization that cooperation and solidarity are two-way actions that entail support to both sides, mutual learning and cultural reciprocity.
GAMES AND TOYS GO ON A TRIP
We offer spinning tops, dominoes, couples games, puzzles, tour games and so many other games to children and families from Catalunya with Nicaraguan content, wits, images and plastic-artisan features.
In turn, European games and toys with their specific features travel from Catalunya to Nicaragua.
Peer-to-peer exchange and mutual knowledge can become an improvement for both sides.
